About Us

What We Do

Oxford Emerging Markets is a company founded by undergraduates of the University of Oxford with the aim of providing exceptional students with the opportunity to explore investment and career prospects in emerging markets. Furthermore, we would like to raise awareness of the current economic and political situations in emerging markets economies and explore the strategic implications of these economies being the financial powerhouses of the future.

OEM is currently focusing on trip-based projects offering students the opportunity to visit Beijing, Hong Kong, Dubai and Mumbai in 2009; each visit will consist of a series of meetings and events at top financial institutions. In addition, OEM will be hosting a conference, an exclusive event for students to gain a greater understanding of emerging markets from keynote speakers, academics and professionals. All events will be open to applications from students at top universities who possess a genuine interest in emerging markets and exhibit the potential to be the business leaders of tomorrow.

OEM comprises of individuals from Oxford University’s leading finance-oriented student societies, with a long and highly successful track record of organising topical trips to leading business and financial centres. Its founders have previously arranged a successful visit to major financial institutions in Hong Kong, including Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Lehman Brothers, JP Morgan and Citigroup with 30 delegates as well as having organised the fully-booked Private Equity Conference 2007 at Oxford’s Said Business School.

OEM is in no way endorsed by the University of Oxford.
